2010-2011
At the middle of the2009, company decide to devolop an new kind of coin acceptor to meet the UK market according to client`s request and market demand.
Requirements
To be able to be fitted to existing machines which currently support the six line standard format ( 6 line open collector outputs )
have an option of faceplates, that fit the standard cut-out for the 3 1/2 inch coin validators: if possible to be able to be clipped on to existing NRI and other front plates
to have accepted coin, coin exit in the same position as other similar coin validators
to have six line parallel, pulse and totalising function
to accept coins set UK 05p, 10p 20p, 50p, one pound and two pounds( 5p if possible as option)
coins from 18 mm to 29 mm in diameter, 1.7 mm to 3.2 mm in thickness
Supply 12 volt 10%
Coin acceptance speed 2 -3 coins per second( Normal mode best discrimination on all coins) 4 to 7 coins per second (Casino mode, possibly only taking one and two pound coins and tokens)
Battery option if possible; unit goes to sleep and is woken up by coin going in.
Self learn function only accessible via pass code or hardware key( once set cannot be adjusted easily without correct access system. To stop problems of people adjusting coin windows and then saying that there is a problem with acceptance)
lead fraud detection
Bi metal coin reading system (a multi-coil system that measures inner and outer materials of the two metal coins.
Anti-fishing system to stop coins being pulled back on threads, thread cutter near accepted gate
Wet deck to accept damp or wet coins.
Options
To make the unit a little different from the many units that are currently on the market, would it be possible to have the unit drive a display? This display in the totalising functions would show coin value and the credit could be seen to be accumulating. The unit in this mode could be used as a complete controller the small vending machines. In the normal mode the individual coin value could be shown for a short time giving the customer feedback that the coin is then accepted correctly.
A pulse or six line to MDB/CCtalk adapter option. This would be an external component which connects to the coin mechanism and enables it to talk the two standards serial communication protocols for vending and amusement. I do not think this is an urgent requirement but if this is planned in from the concept then later it becomes easier to introduce if required
